Alex first joined Noble Solicitors in 2009 and initially worked in the Appeals department. He prepared a large number of cases for Counsel to advise on the merits of appealing the defendant’s conviction and/or sentence.

In 2011, Alex began assisting with prison law cases as well as appeals. He advised clients on a range of matters including HDC, re-categorisation, recall and parole.

Alex moved into the firms Crown Court department in 2013 and continues to work on many cases involving different offences ranging from Murder to ABH, serious sex offences, drug offences, dishonesty offences and more.

Alex’s preparation of a case often involves visiting clients to take full instructions, taking witness statements, attending site visits and assisting counsel at court.

In 2016 Alex completed his police station accreditation and is now a fully qualified police station representative.

ALEX’S PREPARATION OF CROWN COURT CASES HAVE INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING:

R v MW - client successfully acquitted of murder, possession of a firearm and perverting the course of justice after a five week trial at the Old Bailey.

R v PM - client acquitted of murder after a five week trial at Luton Crown Court.

R v DS - client acquitted of soliciting to murder his daughter by hiring a hitman on the dark web.

R v JS - client acquitted of armed robbery at Luton Crown Court.

R v LC - youth defendant successfully acquitted of wounding with intent at St Albans Crown Court.

R v LF - youth defendant successfully acquitted of wounding with intent at Luton Crown Court.

R v AP - client successfully acquitted of wounding with intent at Luton Crown Court.

ALEX’S PREPARATION OF APPEALS CASES HAVE INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING:

 

R v MH – Alex prepared the case over a 2 ½ year period for a vulnerable defendant convicted of murder in 2008. The case was heard by the Court of Appeal in 2013 and involved detailed submissions on the defence of provocation.

R v MA – Alex prepared the case over a 2-year period for a defendant convicted of s18 GBH. The case involved instructing several experts to examine whether the client should have been made subject to a hospital order rather than a sentence of imprisonment for public protection.

ALEX’S PREPARATION OF PRISON LAW CASES HAS INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING:

 

R v HR – Alex assisted in preparing the case before the Parole Board for a high-profile offender convicted of 3 x murder in 1966. The client was successfully released on licence after spending over 48 years in custody.
