Court persuaded by the legal submissions in motoring case

On the 1/10/19 Mr Brumhill from our dedicated motoring law dept. represented a Mr M, whom appeared before the court for using a hand held mobile device whilst driving.

Mr M appeared with a cumulative total of 9 points and thus faced a period of 6 months ban the 6 points for the offence taking him over the 12 point threshold. Mr M was the owner of a small property and estate agency firm, and the court were told of the current precarious situation high street estate agents faced when pitted against the internet giants such as Purple bricks.

The court were persuaded that Mr M did indeed need his license, the effect of any ban possibly having a devastating effect of the company. The court were persuaded by the legal submissions that to ban Mr M would cause “exceptional hardship”.
