Noble Solicitors celebrates World Mental Health Day
On Wednesday 10th October 2012 Noble Solicitors joined in with the celebration of World Mental Health Day in Luton and Bedford. Opera Singer Lawrence Robinson opened the Bedford event with a wonderful version of “You Raise Me Up” he then went over to Luton to perform in St George’s Square.
The purpose of the event is to combat stigma and discrimination against mental health and to promote well-being across our communities. Organisers that attended the event were SEPT, MIND, local housing organisations and charities that help those that are suffering with mental health problems.
In Bedford the community listened to live music from the Barford Avenue ‘All Stars', a ‘Rave Bus' touring the Town throughout the day, attendees took part in Zumba Dancers as well as music throughout the day by local DJs. There was also pavement art on display and an art trail around Bedford
In Luton live music was played throughout the day as well as, Nyabingi Drummers, the Big Draw communal drawing event, a carnival group performing and an ‘ART TRAIL' around the Hat Factory and Luton Central Library.
Samantha Martin Supervisor of the Mental Health Department at Noble Solicitors comments “It was great to be part of the event both stalls in Luton and Bedford had the chance to explain to the community how Noble Solicitors can help those suffering from a mental illness. Our specialist department has been practicing mental health law for over 10 years and I am proud to be part of a department that helps those who are suffering from a mental health illness. I enjoyed seeing clients who I have helped in the past enjoying themselves in a relaxed, friendly and fun environment. I would like to take this opportunity to thank SEPT for allowing us to join in with the celebration.”
