New Soccer League set for kick-off
A brand new amateur football league is ready to kick off in Luton and local law firm Noble Solicitors is right behind it.
The Noble Solicitors League is a six-a-side competition played at Barnfield Academy West, every Thursday between 7pm and 10pm and caters for anyone over 16 who wants to play organised football.
It is being launched by Soccer League UK, which was founded in Bedford in 2007 and now runs mini leagues for more than 12,000 people across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Northamptonshire. The organisation is renowned for pumping a percentage of its profits back into a variety of local community initiatives.
Sixteen teams with squads of 12 and nearly 200 players have signed up for the inaugural league, which will have two divisions, but Soccer League UK is currently recruiting to form a third division. Anyone interested in registering a team should visit www.soccerleagueuk.co.uk or call organiser Kabir Rajha on 07904 733 502.
Noble Solicitors managing director Paul Milan said: “We are absolutely delighted to be sponsoring such a worthy initiative. As well as bringing a lot of organised fun to Luton, League UK is renowned for its community work, something that Noble is also passionate about.”
Kabir Rajha said: “The league is open to absolutely anyone over the age of 16. Whether you are a group of friends, work colleagues or a team looking for extra practice and training - you can enjoy a professionally-run league with a competitive edge and at an affordable price.
“Small-sided football is the most popular and fastest-growing area of adult football. With millions playing every week and almost 50,000 teams involved in competitive leagues, this format of football has increasingly become an integral part of football across the UK.”
